Sara Intonato, RPM Professional
Sara Intonato is both a certified level 1 Rapid Prompt Method (RPM) professional and mother to a 12 year old son with ASD. Frustrated by the limited and uninspiring options the school district offered her son, Sara took matters into her own hands by immersing herself in Relationship Development Intervention (RDI) and RPM to support children’s abilities to connect cognitively, socially, and emotionally. Eager to help the nonverbal community share their brilliance with the world, she received her Rapid Prompt certification from Soma Mukhopahyay in 2022.
RPM is not a therapy, but rather a tool that empowers the student to learn and communicate.
Sara creates customized lessons for each student and adapts the way the lessons are presented according to the individual's sensory tolerance. Because a student’s abilities and sensory needs change constantly, Sara uses her in-depth experience in relationship development to connect with each student and be fully present to what he/she requires in order to learn effectively in that moment.
Sara is passionate about empowering individuals with autism so they gain the confidence, knowledge, and means to make decisions and boost their self esteem. She fully understands the beauty and challenges of parenting a unique child and can relate to the families she works with on every level.
Sara hosts a podcast for families with neurodiverse children called Full Potential: Thriving with Autism, and her first book is being published in August 2022.
